Quattro supports waste reduction with variable portions

Sustainability. It’s so much more than a buzzword. It’s simply terrifying when we consider the damage we humans have caused our precious planet Earth over the last 100 years. But it’s not a lost cause. There’s so much we can do to slow the havoc. We’re learning, slowly but surely that we can have a positive impact – and businesses and individuals across the world are making changes. Small every day changes are key to allowing us to keep living our lives in a productive way whilst moving forward with more consideration for the natural world. And change is definitely afoot as one of the worst offenders – plastic – finds itself seriously in the line of fire. The 1960’s invention – hailed as a game-changer at the time – has not quite had its day but it’s certainly reaching its use-by date – if we have anything to do with it! Clogging beaches and drains, killing sea-life, polluting oceans and making a general nuisance of itself, we say ‘no more’ to plastic and keep working on innovative ways of waving it out the door.

At Quattro Foods we’re astounded at our unknowing contribution to the damage after years of plastic packaging use and we’ve made the decision to put our planet first. Doy style pouches being used in our kitchen are recyclable.  We’ve removed the use of all black plastic from our packaging range and the jars we use for wholesale are fully recyclable. One of the most effective ways of supporting waste reduction is by offering our customers variable portion sizes, so they get what they need and no more – minimising food and packaging waste in one fell swoop. Win, win.

Over the years we’ve been creating food orders big and small to suit our customers’ needs but we’re continuing to work out exactly where and how we can reduce waste further. Working towards the health of our planet is our aim – alongside keeping our customers happy. To complement the brilliant work of our kitchen team on their delicious ranges of ready to use (RTU) sauces, our innovative logisticians have been working on keeping the packaging efficient by supplying foods to meet the needs of different customers perfectly. From curry pastes and sauces, to pasta sauces, sweet and sour sauces and rice sauces, we cater to orders in bulk and in miniature, wherever and whenever they are needed.

Our customers in the wholesale and retail food industry demand flexibility in their order sizes and we are happy to comply. Wholesalers order in bulk and retailers tend to go for smaller, bespoke quantities. We can do both.

We manufacture, package and label all our sauces in a variety of formats, from variably sized jars, to large pouches and bulkier, large volume packaging. Variable portion pouches are available for customers who use individual servings for take-aways and we’ve even invested in a variable-portion pouch filling machine. Our high-tech kitchens manage large-scale food production – we can produce multiple tonnes of sauce in every shift.

At Quattro Foods, 2021 is our year to help businesses get back on their feet. If they need smaller quantities before their finances recover, that’s fine by us. Or ready to go big, fast? We can do that too. It’s all about pleasing our customers and keeping the planet happy too. If we can do both, why not?
