First the BAFTAs, then the Oscars, and now, to the loudest fanfare of all, the Portsmouth News Business Excellence Awards 2022 are in town! The team at Quattro Foods is delighted and proud to have been recognised for our efforts to help others throughout the pandemic and we are humbled to be nominated alongside a host of incredible organisations for a couple of illustrious awards.
Not ones to blow our own trumpet (too often), we just can’t keep quiet about this one. We’re bursting with pride to have been shortlisted in two categories – Company CSR Initiative of the Year and Medium Sized Business for Business Excellence.
If there’s anything the last two years have taught us it’s shared responsibility. Looking after those around us has enabled us to connect with others and with our own values throughout these turbulent times. This became apparent across society throughout the pandemic and the business world was no exception. Many organisations and leaders who showed kindness and empathy alongside innovation and resilience have survived the chaos and although picking up the pieces is no easy task, the knowledge that we did our best for our business, our people and those who needed extra help in our community, offers some peace of mind.
We weathered the storm with our values and ethos intact, thanks to the amazing support of our suppliers and all credit goes to our wonderful team – now delighted to be getting our business back on its feet and to be recognised for our efforts in helping others when things were tough.
The awards celebrate the best in business in our town and have been running for 20 years. Something of an institution, the awards recognise, reward and celebrate all the successful businesses and professional individuals in Portsmouth and nearby. Headline sponsored by the University of Portsmouth Business School, the nominees represent a cross section of businesses who have shown exceptional growth, innovation or an outstanding contribution to the community. The CSR Initiative award is sponsored by BAE Systems and the Medium Business Award by Citrus IT Support.
These have been truly unprecedented times. People have been living in fear and uncertainty yet on the whole, society came together in the face of adversity and businesses put their skills and services to work for the greater good. At Quattro we partnered with local charities The Hive, Friday Fridge and others to help those facing serious food shortages and illness, even when we struggled to continue day to day operations and to maintain business as usual.
We took our pledge to feed the nation seriously by harnessing overstocking issues to tackle a hunger crisis and supporting community charities in their mission to ensure the most vulnerable were supported.
And we can’t wait to sit alongside other inspirational businesses at the awards and to hear what they achieved in the face of adversity. The winners will be presented with their awards at a black-tie gala at the Portsmouth Guildhall on Friday 29th April 2022.
What a privilege to be involved – and what a party it will be!
