When the new decade dawned, no one had any inclination how different the world would look in a matter of weeks. The Covid-19 crisis took hold, and we, as individuals, communities and businesses, glued to news reports, began opening our eyes to the dawning reality that education, business and society as a whole was grinding to a halt. We realised that managers and leaders would be forced to reassess working practices and corporate agendas to eventually climb out of the disaster and to embrace the ‘new normal’. Our food production sector was no exception.
As one of the UK’s leading food manufacturers our Quattro Foods team was faced with dwindling orders from customers in the hard-hit hospitality industry coupled with a new homeworking reality.
Determined to face the Covid challenge head-on, our Director Sam Brower reacted to the changes imposed by the deadly virus resolutely. We are an agile business and we employed innovative thinking to keep our doors open and at the same time fulfil our social obligations. By partnering with a local charity we distributed surplus food stock to hungry residents of the Portsmouth area and we were even interviewed on national TV and radio to discuss the effective way we harnessed the pandemic to help others.
This agile working style is one of the attributes that makes us one of the UK’s most popular sources of recipe development. We manufacture and create bespoke culinary packages for our customers in the hospitality and education sectors, as well as the NHS, the UN, the army and the food service industry. Our tailored end-to-end food manufacturing service begins with the conception of the product and culminates in the production and distribution of the highest quality foods allowing professional chefs to save time, money and manpower in their own kitchens.
Our ambient, ready-to-use and chilled sauces, soups, pastes and dressings are delicious, convenient and made by chefs with a passion for the best local produce and a deep knowledge of world food trends as well as nutritional and environmental issues.
As the peak of the crisis begins to fade, Team Quattro can once again begin to put our hearts into the thing that we do best, bespoke recipe development. And now that our agile practices have been put to the test, we know we can achieve anything. Watch this space for more of the culinary best.
