Is 2019 the year plant based diets go mainstream?

As various food trends emerge and disappear, veganism has firmly placed its stake on the world’s gastro-map and has made it clear that it’s here to stay. A prominent international culinary movement and ideology, veganism is the diet of choice for those who shun all animal products including meat, fish and dairy.

For those who follow this philosophy, finding vegan foods that still taste great is a priority. The countless health and environmental benefits of plant-based foods should not necessitate a lack of taste. Some critics of the movement claim that vegan food tastes like cardboard. Little do they know. It’s quite the opposite. At Quattro Foods our chefs have stepped up to the plate and have created a mouth-watering range of dairy and meat-free dishes.

As our kitchen gets greener – not only in the food we produce but in our sustainable production methods – our chefs become braver and more creative. From soups to sauces, and from rice pots to risottos, we like to think we are a vegan haven for customers who procure the services of UK-based food manufacturers.

We serve the restaurant, wholesale and retail sectors and our products offer chefs in busy kitchens complete convenience – reducing preparation time and increasing shelf life. Supporting our vegan friends in their belief that red meat can be high in saturated fat, our chefs are on a mission to include more leafy green veg (bursting with protein and vitamin B12) and to continue improving our vegan range by designing more products that allow us to leave out cheese, eggs and milk, whilst maintaining our unshakable commitment to exceptional taste.

Through meticulous planning and sourcing, chef Tony and his team have come up with a spectacular range of vegan options, including:

  • Sweet potato mash
  • Vegan béchamel Sauce
  • Refried beans
  • Vegetable chilli
  • Summer fruit compote
  • Ratatouille

Those truly committed to a plant-based diet should have a chat with Tony – he really believes that everything can be ‘faked’. From meat to milk and from cheese to eggs, there’s a vegan substitute for every type of food. We like to use jackfruit – a nutritious and delicious alternative to meat for a mouth-watering Mexican Jackfruit Tinga. It really tastes like pulled pork – and no pigs were harmed in the making of this food – we promise!

Our cheesy but completely cheese-free béchamel sauce is light and creamy. And milk? The bovine variety is easily replaced by soy, coconut, almond, flax and a hundred other varieties.

As one of the UK’s leading food manufacturers we are keen to support our growing number of vegan customers. With endless health benefits, we are enjoying the introduction of new vegetables and different types of lentils to our ranges and we love cooking natural ingredients with no preservatives. Cast stereotype aside and you will start to believe us that vegan fare is far from bland.

We love creating colourful vegan produce, bursting with flavour for the wholesale, retail and high street food markets, as well as the army, the NHS and school and colleges.

Calling all vegans – Quattro is at your service!
