We have been providing food solutions throughout the UK, Europe and worldwide since 2010. Our list of clients include well-known restaurant chains, thriving start-ups and individual outlets, as well as supplying bespoke food development solutions to NHS Wales and the education sector.
Based at our main manufacturing site in Portfield Road, we have seen our business expand substantially over the last three years however the existing premises were unable to grow the business as much as we needed so we started looking for additional space that would allow the business to grow further. At the end of 2017, we identified Oak Park Industrial Estate as an opportunity, taking a new 10-year lease.
Quattro Managing Director Sam Brower says: “Whilst being based from two locations adds another dimension to the business, insofar as the sites are three miles apart, the landlord at Oak Park Estate has been very supportive and accommodating while we refurbished the new space and there is now potential for Quattro to expand further on this estate in the future.”
The expansion has enabled us to recruit more staff, six of whom have already joined this year and a further 18 jobs will be recruited for during 2018, with a focus on local people.
In our first year of operation, turnover was just over £1m. By June 2017, that had increased to in excess of £3m and is expected to increase further this year.
We have invested over £300,000 in the new unit, 20% of which was secured through Solent LEP grand funding as a result of local employment opportunities. The programme included the installation of chillers and freezers and began in January; members of Quattro’s team will start to work in the new unit from 10th April.
Sam adds: “This year has already been a hugely exciting one for Quattro Foods and we are delighted about the expansion into Northarbour. With the opportunity to fit out our new premises from scratch, we have been able to include state of the art equipment that will enable us to continue to grow the business further, as well as creating new jobs for local people. I’m really proud to have a great team who have worked so hard since 2010 to make Quattro the success it is today.”
