Back to school

It felt like the Summer holidays barely ended before half term hit. As parents across the country lamented their curtailed freedom, kids were kicking off their school shoes and settling in for a week of R&R. We resisted the urge to panic – it was only a week, and the little monsters were back to the grindstone again in time for Halloween madness and school lunches – yippee, we cried!

At Quattro Foods we aim to make the return to school as seamless as possible. We know they miss the delights of their kitchen at home, the fruits of their parents’ culinary labour, so we pull out all the stops to make sure that lunch at school doesn’t disappoint. But what makes a decent school lunch and what have school caterers been requesting this year? Team Quattro strives to help school kitchens work smarter and we are truly proud of our bespoke menu development for the education sector.

For our chefs, the health and wellbeing of our country’s young people is a priority. We understand that as a leading food manufacturer we have a responsibility to nourish our future leaders. After all, you can’t become Prime Minister, or a CEO or a professor, or win an Oscar on an empty stomach.

At Quattro we design, prepare, cook and produce everything to order and we leave no stone unturned in the creation of the ideal meals that our customers (schools and colleges) are planning to feed those (perpetually) hungry students. Tony, our Business Development Chef was part of the team that created new school menus on the back of Jamie Oliver’s acclaimed School Dinners campaign. He thrives on the knowledge that his produce is feeding brilliant young minds and with continuous improvement a priority, our range of bespoke items for schools has been broadened to cater for those with special dietary or religious food needs, for example we have an extensive Halal range.

From traditional school staples to exciting world flavours, we deliver brain food around the country, nourishing the next generation with the tastiest and healthiest lunches. We create orders of any size and as many of our schools are feeding over a thousand mouths a day, bulk is the name of the game. We fully understand the challenges faced by busy school kitchen staff and work hard to offer them convenience, efficiency and value for money.

Quattro’s development team is dedicated to ensuring that high nutritional standards are met in schools throughout the UK. Our products save time and money and never fall short of Quattro’s high standards of health and flavour.

Some of our schools’ favourites include:

  • Herby tomato pasta sauce
  • Tomato and mascarpone pasta sauce
  • Herby tomato and chorizo sauce
  • Tomato and meatball sauce
  • Volcano chicken
  • Katsu curry
  • Thai red curry
  • Bolognese sauce
  • Pepperonatta sauce
  • Nepalese curry sauce
  • Sweet and sour vegetable sauce
  • Mac ‘n’ cheese
  • Vegetable chilli
  • Refried beans
  • Ratatouille
  • Carbonara sauce
  • Chicken tikka masala
  • “Hidden Veg” sauces
  • Arrabbiata sauce
  • Beef chilli
  • Beef tomato and herb ragu

So as you wave them off on the school bus, relax in the knowledge that they will be eating the best food that schools have to offer, courtesy of Quattro Foods – feeding our future leaders.
