Looking for the perfect porridge? Look no further!

“She tasted Daddy Bear’s porridge and it was too hot. She tasted Mummy Bear’s porridge and it was too cold. She tasted Baby Bear’s porridge and it was just right.”

Ask Goldilocks what makes the perfect porridge and she’ll no doubt tell you that oats and milk are all you need to make the perfect bowl of the traditional breakfast and, as she’s the world porridge expert, who are we to argue? Once upon a time that was certainly true.

Goldilocks lived in a world where milk came from cows and oats grew in fields. She knew nothing of veganism or other food trends, nor did she know that the simple farmhouse staple – porridge – would, in the distant future, become the breakfast of choice of city slickers, athletes, students, doctors, school children, teachers, bankers, nurses, farmers, writers, dancers, basically everyone and anyone.

The other thing that Goldilocks knew nothing of was the future of milk. No longer the exclusive domain of cows or goats, 21st Century white stuff can be produced from a number of sources – some pretty surprising. From oat to soya, from pea to coconut and from hemp to rice, amongst literally hundreds of others, milk is no longer what it says on the tin. Dairy? No, it’s really not. Tasty? Yes, absolutely. Healthy and wholesome? Indeed. Always was and always will be. But is it as simple as it has always been? Not anymore. The 21st century brings the dawn of a new kind of porridge.

At Quattro Foods we serve the wholesale and retail sectors, from high street chains to individual restaurants, the Army, the UN and hospitals. We have a mixed bag of customers, all with one thing in common – they all love porridge! So how do we, as one of the UK’s leading food manufacturers, please these diverse customers with the same product?

Like porridge, it’s simple. We keep the oats (oh, except our quintessentially Quattro quinoa porridge) but we switch up the milk. Oat milk porridge and coconut milk porridge are two of Quattro Foods’ newest 2020 breakfast options to suit the varied needs and dietary requirements of our clients, with the option of gluten free oats as well as standard oats – the variations are endless!

Created by talented development chefs in Quattro’s state-of-the-art nut-free kitchen, our new porridge choices are healthy, wholesome and delicious, especially served piping hot with a drizzle of honey or a spoonful of sweet jam, fresh fruit or maple syrup. They make breakfast truly worth waking up for, even on the gloomiest winter day. From a family breakfast around the kitchen table to a rushed take-away on the way into the office, it’s the most flexible, portable, filling and warming breakfast around. It simply never gets old.

A new decade brings the promise of exciting and innovative breakfast choices, from breads made without gluten, milk and cheese produced without dairy products and porridge that is a whole lot more than oats and milk.

Come to Quattro Foods to try our latest porridge range and with a breakfast suitable for kings, you’ll live happily ever after.
